
Men’s and women’s semifinal matches took place today at the ASICS World Series of Beach Volleyball featuring the $800,000 FIVB Long Beach Grand Slam.
Women
2016 Olympic bronze medalists Kerri Walsh Jennings and April Ross (USA) ousted Julia Sude and Chantal Laboreur of Germany in straight sets, 21-17, 21-16.
In the second semifinal match, Spain’s Olympians Liliana Fernandez and Elsa Baquerizo defeated Germany’s duo of Katrin Holtwick and Ilke Semmler, 22-24, 21-16 and 15-12.
Men
On the men’s side, Phil Dalhausser and Nick Lucena (USA) defeated Alex Ranghieri and Marco Caminati (Italy), 21-15, 17-21, 15-6.
The second semifinal match saw Olympians Pedro Solberg and Evandro Goncalves (Brazil) outlast Aleksandrs Samoilovs and Janis Smedins of Latvia, 14-21, 21-14, 15-11.
